Nobody wants the caravan toilet to break down on holiday, so follow John Wickersham's top toilet hints and tips to keep your loo working like new!It might seem unthinkable now, but my first caravan had a 'bucket and chuck it' toilet. These primitive thrones used a tall plastic bucket with a seat. When it was time to empty it, a lid replaced the seat to prevent any spillage. These rudimentary products had no form of flush and their contents were in view until the bucket was emptied.
We left Houston on a Friday and didn't get out of Texas until Sunday.

6:30 pm We left Houston and stopped at Schoebel’s in Columbus, Texas for dinner because we were hungry and to celebrate getting out of Houston traffic!
We arrived at the Caverns Inn in Boerne TX just before 11 pm. This Inn is cheap but the shower head didn’t work and there was no towel for the floor.
Tomorrow comes the long drive to El Paso. No firm plans on what to do next.

Fun Weekend Getaway from Houston
Day 1: arrive and see the Tabasco tour Address: 32 Wisteria Rd, Avery Island, LA 70513
Day 2: went to Jungle Gardens on Avery Island to see hundreds of egrets, then around lunchtime went to Rip Van Winkle Gardens RVWG. RVWG address: 5505 Rip Van Winkle Rd, New Iberia, LA 70560
Day 3: Drove around New Iberia, saw the historic house Shadows on the Teche but didn't go in. Drove back to Houston
My husband is a lover of hot sauce. He suggested a trip to Avery Island where Tabasco is made. Hmmm I thought Avery Island? I’m not sure I’m going to love this. But it would just be a weekend trip, and I know he’s loving the hot sauce so sure, let’s check it out.
